Fresh Seafood, Mazatlán and an RV Adventure: New Travel Stories from Bill Bell

Travel and photography by Bill Bell

Fresh seafood beside the beach, a quick look around Mazatlán and a wrong turn we have never forgotten: here are three stories to enjoy from On the Road in Mexico and Drive Mexico Magazine.

Fresh from the sea: the pleasures of RV life

One of the pleasures Dorothy and I loved about RV travel was bringing the day’s seafood back to our own kitchen. Scallops in Baja, oysters along the Nayarit coast and fresh dorado made the ingredients part of the journey. Dorothy brought favourite sauces from home and worked her magic inside the rig.

The photo story takes readers from our motorhome on the Sonora coast to beachside seafood shopping in Nayarit and shore fishing in Mazatlán.

Mazatlán in 60 seconds

Come along for a short photographic trip through Mazatlán, from sandy beaches and pulmonía taxis to the José María Pino Suárez Market. The reel combines my photographs with music and on-screen text, followed by ideas for exploring beyond the resort strip.

Guanajuato: the tunnel that took our awning

A wrong turn in our 28-foot motorhome led into Guanajuato’s underground streets. The tunnel kept our awning; we kept the story. Now illustrated with photographs of the city and its tunnels, this account recalls a costly lesson and the beautiful streets waiting above ground.
