Fashion Show New Leadership Announces 2019 Theme

Mark your calendars in red for the next Women to Women Fashion Show to be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Imagine the Guayabitos Plaza adorned with beautiful ladies dressed in powerful red. Wow! This year’s theme for the party, “Lady in Red,” begs for fashion passion. What a statement you will make against the pristine white tables and tents. I challenge you to go dramatic: will it be a sexy red cocktail dress or a pure white ensemble with scarlet accessories? I can’t wait to see red!

Leading the executive committee is the talented team of Robin Riemcke and May Mckay. These fashion forward business women bring fresh ideas and dedication. “I believe that educated women will be the ones to save our villages, cities, countries, and planet,” said Robin. May added, “I volunteer in Mexico because I believe in women helping women!” Both women have been seasonal residents for more than 15 years and care about the community.

Robin divides her time between Los Ayalas and Kingston, Washington state, USA. As a retired business owner, Robin is aware of the importance of managing expenses. She wants to see the Fashion Show grow responsibly to maximize funds for the initiatives.

May resides in La Penita and Nanaimo, BC, Canada. In addition to volunteer modeling for other charity events, May has extensive fund raising and business experience. “I’ve always thought, if you look good, you feel good about yourself. I used this slogan as a guiding theme in my fashion jewelry business.” This organized, creative dual is already hard at work preparing for the 2019 gala.

The current Women to Women Fashion initiatives includes 27 university scholarships-a major accomplishment; 44 food bags for needy families at Christmas; a $20,000 grant to GEMA; and supplying daily breakfast to low income students attending middle school. All of this year round giving to the community is accomplished from one event! As the sole fundraiser for the group, the Fashion Show has a huge responsibility: provide a classy party that entertains the guests; support the local designers and area businesses; generate funds for initiatives. For fifteen years FS group has exceeded their goals-due to your support!

The Fashion Show Committee looks forward to seeing you on the red carpet in 2019. Check out our website, www.mujeresamujeres.com for updates. To donate or volunteer, please email robin: rriemcke@aol.com or May: may.mackay@shaw.ca
