The Cancer Walk has Morphed

I am not sure how many years ago it was but it was over a decade ago. A friend needed some support after going through a mastectomy and I came up with the Cancer Walk as an activity to raise some cash, awareness and fun.
I knew I had support for almost anything Bill and I wanted to do from the Horton Clan, but I asked Patty at Hinde and Jaimes if it was OK if I held a meeting there. YES of course she replied.
I next called up Val Schrowe and told her about my idea. She was in and invited a crew to join in.
The meeting was packed. We came out with a rough plan and then the work began. The late “Go with the Flow” approached me later and joined in with the group. We walked in Pink. We rode in Pink. Partied in Pink and had the best street party ever at Hinde and Jaimes.
The Cancer Walk was a success for years and the proceeds helped out many people in out community. When I left the area, leadership transferred to Tara Spears (with Yvonne Trottier assisting) but the location of the event – Hinde and Jaimes remained the same. For years and years they sold the majority of tickets, provided the venue, music, and donated so much time and money to this super-fun event.
The Cancer Walk is no longer, BUT THE PARTY WILL GO ON.
Hinde and Jaimes are now hosting an Event called Rock the Block. I am sure that your support will go towards the many needy causes in the area.
Have fun.
