New Medical Supply Store Opens: Orthopedia Pimienta

It’s easy to stumble on cobblestones or slip on tile and the resulting fall often leads to injury. Nothing spoils a vacation as much as being told “don’t put weight on it.”
While Jaltemba Bay has excellent medical care, previously the closest place to get crutches, wheelchair or braces was an hour and a half drive each way- until now. Orthopedia Pimienta is conveniently located on the lateral just a few doors down from the bank in La Penita centro. Best yet, it is open every day except Sunday from 9 am-2 pm and 4 pm til 7:00 pm. The company has a Facebook page, email, and Whats App cell 323 132 0465 so you can connect fairly easily. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted which really helps out in an emergency.
The company is owned by Jose Pablo Pimienta from Tepic. Jose’s father is a doctor so he grew up with an heightened awareness of good health needs. The young entrepreneur and his wife are expecting their first child any day.
The La Penita location is his second ortho and medical supply store which helps keep the prices competitive and makes it possible to get a larger variety of sizes and options. The La Penita store has trained staff that can assist you with fitting or selecting the correct apparatus for your injury.
The Ortopedia Pimienta objective is to “improve your quality of life” by being the best place to find all kinds of orthopedic devices including ortho shoe inserts and corrective insoles. The store has all kinds of adaptive orthopedic items, such as hospital beds, mobile potty chairs, specially designed mattresses and a variety of waterproof mattress protectors to keep moisture away from the patient and to help move the patient. Key items are adjustable crutches, canes, and several types of walkers!

She does not speak English, so bring a smart phone with google translate if you need to interact, or have your doctor call the store. Denisse is friendly, caring and happy to help fit any item. She can call the other store for additional sizes or product as needed.
The opening of Orthopedic Pimienta is a big benefit to our community with its aging population and fun-loving visitors. While it’s always better to avoid injury, it is a huge relief to have quality medical and orthopedic support right here in the neighborhood rather than have to travel to get help. You can’t miss the location with its bright blue exterior and large sign.
