Nayarit/Jalisco Artist Roberto Gil de Montes Receives Global Recognition
The gallery closed in 2018 but Roberto continues to work in La Peñita. In the fall of 2020, the Kuri Manzutto Gallery in Mexico City invited Robert to show his work and represent him. During these last two years the gallery has exhibited his work in New York, Miami, Basel, Switzerland, Los Angeles, and Mexico City
Last month, the Venice Biennale, the world’s largest art exhibition named Roberto among the 213 artists from 58 countries to participate in the 2022 edition to take place April 23 to Nov 27 in Venice Italy.
He’s number 75 on the attached list on the press release which puts La Peñita on the map!!
To be chosen to be part of this event is a lifetime achievement and puts his work on the world stage.
