February 2021 Concerts Cancelled

One of the best attractions in Jaltemba Bay, the weekly concerts in the town plaza during the month of February, was cancelled in response to covid health concerns. These free to-the-public performances- Artistico and Cultural Festival de Guayabitos- showcase various types of Mexican music, dance, and folklore. The well-known professional entertainers are paid for by the Hotel Association in conjunction with the state Cultural Department. Such a gift to the community!
The quality of the concerts amazing: top notch lighting, excellent speakers disseminate the music throughout the plaza to envelop the hundreds of guests. Imagine the clear tropical night glittering with stars, a sea breeze rustling the palm leaves, the passionate Mexican music hugs your heart…truly a memorable experience.
Two of the favorite headliners, Hermanos Aguascalientes and Arcano, are world renowned violinists. They infuse such energy and beauty into each song.
There is always one night during each festival that features the athletic drama of a circ performance; circ is an art form that combines elements of theater, dance and circus techniques. The goal remains the same: to reflect feelings through art. Although intended to appeal to the kids, adults are mesmerized by the agility and beauty, too!
Throughout the years, the Artistico and Cultural Festival de Guayabitos has dazzled with outstanding folkloric dance presentations. The stunning costumes and entriguing dance routines are mesmerizing- the dancers keep smiling and gliding as the sweat pours off them. Each type of dance and costume highlights a particular Mexican state as each state has it’s own song/dance/traditional costume. Such an enjoyable way to learn Mexican culture.
Unfortunately, 2021 was skip year for the popular February event. Let’s all believe that the coming winter will be a return to health and normal routines worldwide.
This concert series is such a wonderful opportunity for our community to enjoy quality entertainment under the stars. Many thanks go to the Guayabitos Hotel Association for gifting the community with this stellar entertainment!
