Mexico Road Report — November 3, 2026

November 3, 2026. Our updated road report combines newly supplied traveller accounts with dated highway notices. Potholes, construction and allowing enough time for border paperwork remain practical concerns.

Nogales to Mazatlán

Jim arrived in Mazatlán on November 1 after driving alone from central Alberta in a Ford pickup. His km 21 stop took about four hours because of paperwork corrections, queues and limited staffing. He reported poor cell service, a night at In House Hotel in Ciudad Obregón, and approximately seven hours to Mazatlán the following day. Broken pavement and potholes were his main road concerns. His approximately 1,540-peso toll total applies to his particular journey.

Eagle Pass to Barra de Navidad

An October 2026 traveller entered through Eagle Pass/Piedras Negras Bridge II, continuing through Monclova, Saltillo and San Luis Potosí. Roadworks south of Colima added about 45 minutes. The member’s advice: an eight-hour navigation estimate can become ten or eleven hours with stops and delays. Exact October travel dates were not supplied.

San Miguel de Allende to Colombia Bridge

Stacey Clinesmith reported a Sunday journey from 6 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m., with TIP cancellation and no significant delays on that trip. The exact travel date was not supplied. Carry required pet paperwork even if another traveller was not asked to show it.

Dated highway notices

A November 3 morning bulletin citing CAPUFE and Guardia Nacional reported restrictions on Ciudad Obregón–Guaymas at km 99 toward Guaymas, México–Querétaro near km 117.2, México–Puebla near km 39.5 and km 29, and Monterrey–Monclova near km 92.8, plus congestion at Villas de Arriaga on Lagos de Moreno–San Luis Potosí. Their subsequent clearance has not been confirmed here; these are not live closure claims. Source: Eje Central, November 3.
