The pleasure of a plaza: a Mexico photo essay by Bill Bell

Photography and reflections by Bill Bell

Some of Mexico’s most rewarding moments happen on a park bench. A vendor passes the quiosco, musicians gather beneath the trees, and neighbours settle into conversations that can outlast the afternoon.

In his latest photo essay, Bill Bell shares why he and Dorothy always seek out the town square—whether for coffee, a cold beer or the pleasure of watching everyday life unfold. Six photographs take us from colourful La Peñita and musical Oaxaca to the decorated square in Puerto Vallarta, with quieter corners along the way.
