Peurto de Chacala, Mexico – Something magical and musical is coming to the heart of Riviera Nayarit, in the crown jewel village of Chacala-by-the-sea, a relaxing fishing village 50 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

From March 12-15, 2015, the Second Annual Puerto de Chacala Music and Art Festival will bring together musicians and other artists for a three day and night celebration of music… a festival… an unforgettable bringing-in-the-spring fling!

The Puerto de Chacala Festival de Musica y Arte is an annual celebration of music, complete with sing-alongs and dancing in the street, as well as artists, educators, exhibitors and authentic Mexican food and spirits.

How it All Began

One night in 2012 at a Friday night roof-top reception, a group of attendees began to break out in song, regaling the crowd spontaneously with music from Broadway Musicals. The group began to realize that Chacala might just be a perfect place to celebrate music and other arts: thus was borne the Puerto de Chacala Festival de Musica y Arte.

The general feeling was that Chacala was destined to grow, and it was felt that an ideal growth trajectory was to see this quaint Mexican village evolve into a high quality locale where people could develop in body, mind, and spirit. This could potentially develop the sea-side village into a center of artistic values, similar to models achieved in other places such as Carmel, California and San Miguel Allende, Mexico.

This Year’s Festival

Featured musicians at this year’s Chacala Music Festival include The Banderas Bay Jazz Allstars, who will perform Friday, March 13th from 7:30-9:30 in the Palm Grove.
