Savvy fashion mavens know about the La Penita hidden jewel, Boutique Maggy just around the corner from the bank. This small shop has dressy casual women’s wear plus a quality line of beauty products, and Terramar jewelry.
Owner Margarita “Maggy” Serna Sanchez has been in the fashion industry almost 30 years. She combines awareness of styles, fashion trends, and artistic vision when selecting the garments for be attending when ordering outfits,” explained Maggy. “I prefer the classic lines that flatter a woman and won’t go out of style right away.”
As a young woman, Maggy trained to be a beautician. She operated her own salon for 20 years until the accumulated chemical exposure was making her sick. Rather than give up working with women, Maggy opened her fashion boutique. For the last eight years her shop has gained
a steady customer base. Limited to women/ young women’s apparel in size small to large, Maggy can order stock for the customer with enough advance time.
The Roaring 20s Fashion Show tickets are half sold! You can order online with a credit card, www.mujeresamujeres.com or at the Thursday market between 9:00am and noon. Yvonne is selling tickets next to Hindi & Jaime’s restaurant. No tickets are available on the day of the event.
The Women to Women Fashion Show is the only fundraiser the group holds to support its educational initiatives. Your attendance and generosity that day enables talented young women to attend university.
“They (Fashion Show scholarship students) always seem so thrilled and motivated. Education is so important to the future well-being of the area. I am happy to be involved,” explained Linda Webb, Women to Women treasurer.
